Meet
the Founder
Paula Couto
Founder & Registered Architect
With over 22 years of professional experience across Brazil and Australia, Paula Couto brings together architectural expertise, technical precision and a refined approach to design.
A graduate in Architecture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with postgraduate studies in Construction Engineering, Paula’s career spans residential architecture, interiors, commercial, healthcare and major infrastructure projects.
After moving to Australia in 2017, Paula became a Registered Architect in 2021, gaining extensive experience within the Australian architecture and construction industry.
In 2025, she founded LightHaven, a boutique studio created to bring together her international experience, design sensibility and deeply personal approach to architecture.
Design has always been part of her story.
From an early fascination with creating objects and reimagining spaces to more than two decades in architecture, Paula has always been drawn to the relationship between beauty, function and the way people experience space.
Today, that philosophy is at the heart of LightHaven.
